More layouts

Thanks to Stacey for the fun sketch! I used this sketch for both of these layouts.

On this layout, I used the new Graphic 45 "On the Boardwalk." LOVE.THIS.PAPER. I will need to get more so I can use the flip sides.

For this one, I flipped the sketch, tore up an old shirt and cut it into squares and used Kristie's flower tutorial.

Thanks for looking! Have a great week and be sure to come back and see who wins my giveaway! :-D

Snow Angel

Here's a layout I did today using Stacey's sketch. I didn't bother waiting for the stickles and glass to dry, I wanted to share SOMEthing with my scrappy friends, since one of you thinks that I've given up scrapping completely. LOL

Also, just a reminder that my blog birthday giveaway is still going for another week, so if you're not a follower and want to win THIS, then just click on the link and leave me a comment saying you're following me. :-)

Happy Weekend!

I don't know about where you are, but here in Bamaland, we've got a gorgeous weekend on tap! YAY! Gotta love 60's and sunshine!

I did create a couple of layouts yesterday (being Scrap Friday and all) but I will share those with y'all later, as I did them for a new sketch site. Stacey is a super talented sketcher, so if you like sketches, you'll love her site! And right now, she's got a fun giveaway going on, so check her out!

Coming soon to a layout near you... sweet Kennedy.

Lest you think it's her birthday, it's NOT. But whenever she comes to our house (and that's often!) it's HER birthday, just ask her. LOL Last weekend, she and her dad came over for dinner and it happened to be HIS birthday. She was very excited and said it was HER birthday. I asked her how old she was and she answered like I was all stupid or sumthin'... "Eight, silly!" So I dragged out the number 8 candle that I keep handy for all of her birthdays this year, stuck it on her dads cake and we sang Happy Birthday to Miss Kennedy, for the 10th time this year. :-D

Have a great weekend and I swear, I'll have layouts to share soon! :-)

Yay me!!!

I'm very very EXTREMELY, MONDO, UBER excited to share that I will be serving a second term on the Creative Cookbooking team! Thanks to Debbie and the entire inaugural team for making it such a fun community, and I'm looking really forward to working with the very talented new chefs Marti, Karen and Alecia! Congrats to all!

Now here is where I WAS going to share some new creations. However, I have a new laptop and guess what I don't have? PHOTOS! I will fix that problem this week and be back in a jiffy with schtuff. LOL

Oh, and for those curious, I never heard a peep back from Taco Bell. Shrug.

Have a great week! :-)

Scrap Friday and DT creations

The new Creative Cookbooking challenge is up! Super Bowl 2010 is tomorrow! Gridiron gourmets, grab your cameras and get some pics of the food and fun! Your challenge this week is to scrap your tailgating party, whether it's at the stadium or at your home.

We don't go to games, but we certainly watch our fair share of football on the big screen TV! And for the big games, we eat in a big way! Here is a layout of some grilled goodies from our last football game!

I hope you'll join in the fun! And don't forget, the Design Team call ends on Feb. 15th, so there's still plenty of time to submit for a spot on this awesome team. :-)

Here are a couple of layouts for the last two challenges on Scrapperie. This one required doodling. Doodling is a little outside my comfort zone, but somehow seemed perfect for the subject of my layout. Since this photo, I've journaled on the envelope about my feelings of reconnecting with my birth sister. Inside the envelope is the first letter she sent me and my reply to her. This goes into my Book of Me.

This weeks challenge on Scrapperie is typography. I'll admit, I had to look typography up. "Typography is the art and technique of arranging type, type design, and modifying type glyphs. Type glyphs are created and modified using a variety of illustration techniques." So I chose to make a "tree" out of the word Christmas and then stitched "brunch" under it to demonstrate variety. LOL I made the purple poinsettia using a tutorial from Liz on Scrap for a Cure.

And just for fun, I had this photo from last summer. It's silly, but that's how I roll. LOL This layout goes into my Book of We, which has been sorely neglected as of late.

And last, but not least, I made this layout using the last little bit of the Treasured Family Recipes kit from Creative Cuts and More that was sent to me for the blog hop a couple of months ago. I'm tellin' ya, that kit was jam packed! Love, love, LOVE Cosmo Cricket!

Well, I actually do have more layouts to share, but those layouts are ones that I can't share just yet.

No matter who you're rooting for in the Super Bowl, just remember... WHO DAT!!! LOL

Happy birthday!!!

I made my first blog post March 1st, 2007. That means for almost 3 whole years, my scrappy friends have put up with my randomness. You've put up with my rants. You've laughed at my silliness. You've celebrated my triumphs. You've pulled your hair out with me at my frustrations. You've given hugs when I've been down. You've inspired me. THANK YOU! I love you all!

To celebrate YOU, I am going to send a birthday present to one lucky commenter! Here's a few goodies I've put together from my stash. I'm still adding to it, so this won't be all. Hey! It IS a birthday gift, so there will be an additional surprise or two in there. :-D

It's not hard to be entered in the drawing to win. If you're not already a follower, please follow me. And then leave a comment on this post saying that you are following me. That's it, easy peasy. You can share with your friends if you want, but remember, you're narrowing the odds of winning if you do! LOL

Good luck to all! :-) I'll draw a winner on March 1st.

Happy February!

Do you know the best part about a new month? I don't have to torment over what to call the blog post. Just, "happy whatever month it is." And there's no question which layout to share, because it's always going to be my calendar of the month. :-D

Can you believe it, I didn't hit the scrap table at all last week. That makes me so SAD! My Scrap Friday got messed up by a doctors appt for the father in law, as today will as well. I just need to get that man healthy so he can go visit his other children for an extended period of time next month. So if I have to drive to doctors appts every day THIS month, so be it! I'm SO looking forward to a month of having my life, my family and my house back. It will be strange, there's no doubt. I was just thinking... do you know the last time I actually wore my pajamas in my house without putting a robe on was? Ten years ago. I don't know why I thought about that, but I'll bet even when he leaves on his trip, I'll STILL wear my robe, just out of habit! LOL My little girls don't even remember life without him living here, but they are excited at the prospect of being able to watch MTV on the big TV in the living room without having cranky grandpa pulling his chair into the middle of the room and changing the channel to the game show network. And the hubs has already bought a new surround sound stereo and hooked it up, although we really haven't been able to "test it out" real good yet. C'mon March! :-D

Have a great week and I'll be back soon with a pic of the box o' goodies I'll be giving away for my birthday!
